Once at the processing facility the various materials are sorted in order to maintain maximum value. Sorting is done with conveyors, tables, magnets, grinders, hand torches and spectrometers. During this process, metallurgical composition may be utilized in order to maintain the highest level of quality and purity.
After being sorted, the remaining pieces are formed into bales that meet specific customer requests or other guidelines. High density bales are formed with high pressure hydraulic machines in order to maintain uniformity and accessibility. Lower density bales are made with lower hydraulic pressure and provide options for customers with different needs. The metallurgical content as well as briquettes can be adjusted for each customer and achieved with metal management.
Some items, such as large amounts of broken pieces or car radiators, will be shredded and crushed.
